"Well then," the Cat went on, "you see a dog growls when it's angry and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad."
quite impressive piece, no doubts there. it certainly displays your ability to form characters and render. your devotion to natural media is quite special too.
however, brace yourself.. nitpicking begins here, you can be little bit more generous on giving us a definite focal point. usually its composition and color-depth that helps viewer to see what you want them to see. technical skill is no doubt strong in this piece, but the image is overall too busy.
placing the characters in invisible eyeline which you hide in the canvas (compsition) and pushing the less important elements out of its color value (in this case muted, and/or brighter color on background when characters are vibrant and well shaded...) could separate the characters from the background, and that will really bring out the magic in this piece.
its pretty clever how you have limited color palete, yet made it look so colorful, but you dont need alot of color to make great picture, you know?
Great image. I have the Art of the World of WarCraft book and this image is just so much more..... happier! Amazing with all the colours again in watercolour and marker. Was this a commission for a fan or Blizzard? It's definitely worthy of promotional material for Blizzard. I don't play the game, but I love the art. Thanks for the eye-candy once again.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
